I always have a jar of Tahini Dressing in my fridge. With so many varieties to make, it’s a wonderful addition to salads, grains, protein, and more!
If you’ve followed me along on the blog and Instagram, ya’ll know how much I heart making my own sauces and dressings. This one here is one of my favs… however, other match-from-scratch condiments include my 10-Minute Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce, this Tangy Alabama White Sauce (a blog favorite!), and for salad lovers… you gotta try my Creamy Italian Salad Dressing!
INGREDIENTS YOU’LL NEED:
Not only is this recipe good tasting, it’s also good for you because it utilizes turmeric. Oh, and did I mention how pretty the color is? It’s like sunshine in a bowl!
- Tahini
- Warm Water
- Lemons
- Turmeric
- Agave
- Garlic Cloves
- Salt
If you’re wondering what tahini is, it’s basically ground up sesame seeds. It tastes nutty with a hint of bitterness. While it looks similar to peanut butter, it lacks the natural sweetness. I add agave to my dressing, but you could also substitute with honey or whatever sweetener you enjoy most.

NOTES ON THIS RECIPE:
- If you prefer to add some heat, a dash or two of cayenne pepper pairs nicely.
- When I have it on hand, I’ll sometimes add a teaspoon of grated ginger to this dressing. Ya know, to mix things up once in a while 😉
- We immensely enjoy this dressing on my Golden Yogurt Marinated Chicken. We eat it as a grain bowl, inside wraps, or on top of various salads.
- For presentation, I added a sprinkle of sesame seeds on top. While it’s not mandatory, it does make the dressing look pretty when you’re entertaining guests for dinner.
