January 28, 2021 By Jessica Leave a Comment

When it comes to snacking, you can’t get much tastier than this Pepsi Party Mix. It’s the perfect mix of sweet, salty and super easy to make.

Party Mix

Let’s talk about the big day coming up… Super Bowl! If ya’ll have looked around on my blog, you know I’m a HUGE savory person. However, having something sweet to round things out is never a bad idea. Say hello to my newest obsession, Pepsi Party Mix.

Party Mix

This no-bake recipe is such a crowd pleaser. It’s actually a great snack to have year-round. Serve it at parties, during movie night or gift it to a friend! You’ll need a few pantry staples, plus the following:

  • Life Cereal
  • Tiny Twist Pretzels
  • Mixed Nuts
  • Crushed Fritos

The liquid ingredients (aka pantry staples) include Pepsi, melted butter, sugar, baking soda and corn syrup. When everything is mixed together and cools, the liquid forms this candy crust around the salty snack combo that’s absolutely irresistible! I promise, your tastebuds are going to swoon!

HOW TO MAKE PEPSI PARTY MIX:

  1. First, you’re going to melt the butter over medium heat in a saucepan. You can alternatively use a microwave but I prefer the stove method.
  2. Once melted, stir in the sugar and cornstarch, then bring all ingredients to a boil. Continue stirring every 30 seconds and boil for two minutes. Stir in the baking soda and Pepsi.
  3. Toss the mixed nuts, pretzels, crushed Fritos and Life cereal in a large mixing bowl. Pour the butter / syrup mix over the dry ingredients while gently stirring. Once evenly coated, pour the party mix across two baking sheets to cool. Break up into smaller pieces, as needed, and enjoy!
  4. Store any leftovers in a sealed container, at room temperature, for up to 2 days.

NOTES ON THIS RECIPE:

  • If you prefer the microwave method, melt butter in a glass mixing bowl covered with plastic wrap. Stir in sugar and cornstarch, cover, and then microwave for 2 minutes. Stir and continue to microwave for 2 more minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Fold in the baking soda and Pepsi and then pour over the mixture of nuts, pretzels, Fritos and cereal. Gently mix until combined and pour over two baking sheets to cool.
  • The mixture will be sticky at first but will form into a hard candy-like shell as it cools.
