When it comes to making a juicy, extra flavorful chicken burger at home… trust me, mix the ground chicken with the pimento cheese! While most people would probably just plop a dollop of pimento cheese on top, mixing it into the ground chicken is the way to go. The patties form a cheesy exterior crust and goodness; it is so good.
I recently started an Instagram series with Springer Mountain Farms to showcase local Charlotte restaurants that utilize SMF Chicken on their menus. Up first was Front Porch and Provisions with Chef Will. Everything we sampled was incredibly delicious, but his Southern Chicken Sandwich really stuck with me. As a spin-off, I thought I’d make his yummy creation into a burger. So here we are.
Other chicken handhelds you’ll want to give a shot include this Fully Loaded Crispy Ground Chicken Burger, my Pickle Juice Fried Chicken Sandwiches, and these Cobb Salad Grilled Chicken Sandwiches.

RECIPE TIPS & SUGGESTIONS FOR THIS EASY CHICKEN BURGER RECIPE:
- By adding the pimento cheese directly to the ground chicken, it keeps these chicken burgers moist and juicy. Try to avoid overmixing, as this will make the burgers more dense.
- I’m a huge fan of the classic cheeseburger, but sometimes you want something a little lighter (but still savory and delish). I suggest using 92% lean ground chicken for this recipe, but you could also swap it for the 99% fat free.
- Are you a spicy food lover? Go ahead and swap the regular pimento cheese with jalapeño pimento cheese.
- These are awesome for meal prep. You can either cook the patties and store them in a sealed container for up to 3 days to reheat or form the patties and store them for up to 24 hours raw so they’re quick and ready to cook at a moment’s notice.
