This flatbread pizza recipe is a delicious combo of salty, savory and a touch of sweetness. Makes for a phenomenal party app or easy dinner.
I’m completely smitten when it comes to flatbread and pizzas. I can seriously eat a slice at any time of the day. If you agree, go ahead and make my Breakfast Pizza for your next AM pick-me-up. I also recommend giving my Pepperoni Pizza Garlic Knots and Supreme Spaghetti Pizza Casserole a whirl!
INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR THIS FLAVORFUL FLATBREAD PIZZA:
When I need to get dinner on the table in a hurry, pre-made flatbread crusts are one of my go-to options! All you’ll need for this lip-smacking meal is:
- Prepared Flatbread Crust
- Cajun Style Andouille, sliced and sautéed
- Asian Pear, sliced
- Gorgonzola Cheese, crumbled
- Honey
- Micro or Regular Arugula
If you can’t find an Asian pear at your local grocery store, you can also use Bartlett. Blue cheese is also a great alternative to gorgonzola. Per the usual, I try to utilize what I already have on hand. Feel free to substitute where you need and don’t be afraid to get creative! If I have time, I’ll sometimes make my own pizza dough and add caramelized onions.
HOW TO MAKE PEAR, GORGONZOLA AND SAUSAGE FLATBREAD PIZZA:
This recipe is seriously as easy as 1, 2, 3!
- Garnish flatbread with sautéed sausages, sliced pear, gorgonzola crumbles and a drizzle of honey.
- Bake at 350F for 10 – 15 minutes, or until the gorgonzola has melted.
- Sprinkle with micro or regular arugula (and an extra drizzle of honey, if desired) and enjoy immediately.
I love me some heat, so I used Cajun Style Andouille in this recipe. If you’re not a fan, this can be made with mild Italian Sausage or even Chicken-Apple Sausage (kid-friendly).

MAKE THE MEAL COMPLETE:
Like I said before, this recipe is absolutely fabulous as an appetizer for family gatherings, football fare or wine night with your besties. If you are making this for dinner and have heartier appetites, go ahead and serve this alongside an entree salad. I’ve got plenty to choose from on the blog, including this Autumn Chicken Cobb!
- 1 Large Prepared Flatbread Crust
- 2 Cajun Style Andouille Sausages, sliced and sautéed
- Asian Pear or Bartlett, sliced
- ⅓ cup Gorgonzola Cheese Crumbles
- Honey, as needed
- Micro or Regular Arugula, as needed
- Slice and cook sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned, about 5 minutes.
- Garnish flatbread with sautéed sausages, sliced pear, gorgonzola crumbles and a drizzle of honey.
- Bake at 350F for 10 – 15 minutes, or until the blue cheese has melted.
- Sprinkle with micro arugula (and an extra drizzle of honey, if desired) and enjoy immediately.
NOTES ON THIS RECIPE:
- Depending on the size of your pre-made flatbread, serving sizes may vary. I used a Stonefire Flatbread in this recipe. It cuts perfectly into 6 squares.
- Want more cheesy goodness? You can also sprinkle this with 1/4 cup shredded gouda or mozzarella before baking.
- A drizzle of aged balsamic vinegar is always welcomed. To keep things balanced, I’d skip the honey prior to baking. Serve with the balsamic vinegar after baking.
