These mini pigs in a blanket are a true crowd-pleaser. Perfect for your next game day gathering, cookout with friends, and holiday parties.
I’m absolutely smitten with appetizer spreads. It’s just so fun to fill your plate with a little taste of this, a little taste of that. Whew, gimme all the flavors! So, when I partnered with Jus-Rol to showcase their amazingly easy to roll, refrigerated crescent dough, I knew the exact recipe I wanted to make.

INGREDIENTS FOR THIS RECIPE:
The Reuben happens to be one of my favorite sandwiches. Inspired by that classic flavor combo, these little gems turned out pop-in-your-mouth fantastic. Here’s everything I used:
- Jus-Rol Crescents
- Corned Beef
- Swiss Cheese
- Little Smokies
- Spicy Brown Mustard
- Sauerkraut
- Butter
- Caraway Seeds
- 1000 Island or Russian Dressing
Jus-Rol Crescents are found in the refrigerated section of your local grocer. Unlike the canned variety, it’s so nice that all you need to do is unroll, shape, and bake. No rolling pins or extra parchment paper required! It’s so convenient that the parchment paper included is oven-safe up to 425 degrees F. Make sure to check out their store locator to find Jus-Rol products near you!

WHAT TO SERVE MINI PIGS IN A BLANKET WITH:
While I prefer 1000 island, you could also present these with a variety of dippers. I’d suggest yellow mustard, additional spicy ground mustard, ketchup, homemade buttermilk ranch, or your favorite hot sauce!
HOW TO MAKE THE ULTIMATE APPETIZER SPREAD:
Of course, these mini pigs in a blanket will be your centerpiece (and guaranteed to be the first item you’ll need to refill… so make a couple batches!). I like to surround mine with other finger foods like carrots, pickles, nuts, potato chips, and my White Bean Hummus when I want to get a little fancy.
- 1 Package Jus-Rol Crescents
- ⅓ lb. Corned Beef, shaved thin
- ⅓ cup Shredded Swiss Cheese
- 16 Little Smokies
- 2 tbsp. Spicy Brown Mustard
- ⅓ cup Sauerkraut, drained
- 2 tbsp. Melted Butter
- 1 - 2 tbsp. Caraway Seeds
- 1000 Island or Russian Dressing, for serving
- Preheat oven to 375F. Unroll the crescent dough and cut each triangle in half lengthwise. Set aside.
- Sprinkle each slice of corned beef with a pinch of Swiss cheese and top with one little smokie. Wrap the corned beef around the cheese and little smokie, forming a roll shape. Repeat until you have wrapped all 16 little smokies.
- Grab a crescent triangle and brush one side with spicy brown mustard and top with 1 tsp. Sauerkraut.
- Place one corned beef wrapped little smokie towards the thicker end of the crescent triangle and then roll into a crescent roll shape. Repeat this process until all 16 have been wrapped.
- Transfer these to the parchment paper included in the packaging on top of a large baking sheet. Brush each one with melted butter, then sprinkle with caraway seeds. Bake until golden, about 18 - 20 minutes.
- Serve warm with 1000 Island or Russian Dressing.
NOTES ON THIS RECIPE:
- To make entree-size pigs in a blanket, skip the step of cutting each triangle in half. This will provide you with 8 crescent roll triangles. Swap the little smokies for a regular size hot dog or sausage. Continue with the rest of the directions, adjusting for larger portions of the cheese, spicy brown mustard, and sauerkraut for each “piggy”. Bake as directed.
- While the melted butter and caraway seeds are optional, I do think they make a nicer presentation.
- Any leftovers should be kept in an airtight container, refrigerated, and consumed within the next day or two.
