Such a simple, yet satisfying Breakfast.
What is your favorite kind of bread for toasting?
With so many varieties to choose from, it’s hard to narrow it down to my top three picks but here it goes!
- Sourdough (REAL Sourdough from San Francisco)
- Marble Rye
- Whole Wheat (loaded with tons of seeds)
If I’m being completely honest here, I would be content eating Toast for breakfast every day.
Simple Toast with Butter, perhaps a dash of Cinnamon.
Avocado Rose with Eggs.
Cream Cheese & Strawberries with Chia Seeds.
Growing up in California, we had a plethora of Cherries available on every corner of our small, farming town. So naturally, when it’s Cherry Season I stock up our fridge and play around with different recipes.
I made an EPIC piece of Toast this morning…. one so mouth-wateringly beautiful that my toddler refused to eat his own breakfast and devoured mine instead. I know this combination is going to sound a little odd… but try it, I know you’ll love it.
Avocado Toast topped with Cherries and Chia Seeds.
This combination is now a regular at our breakfast table. If you’d like to mix things up a bit, I think that Feta would be an excellent addition, as well as Hemp Hearts, Toasted Coconut Flakes, Dark Chocolate Curls, Red Pepper Flakes or Pumpkin Seeds. Or maybe make a piece with everything listed above? Holy Moly.
Ingredients:
- 1 slice of Toasted Bread (your choice)
- 1/2 Avocado, smashed
- Dash of Sea Salt
- 3-4 Cherries, split with pit removed
- 1 tsp. Chia Seeds
Directions:
- Toast Bread to your desired toastiness.
- Smash Avocado and mix with Sea Salt. Set Aside.
- Cut Cherries in half and remove the pits. (If serving to a child, cut into smaller pieces)
- Top Toasted Bread with smashed Avocado, Cherries, and Chia Seeds.
It looks like we aren’t the only ones obsessed with TOAST and all it’s glorious toppings… swap the Cherries for Figs and you’ve got a duo that everyone will drool over.
