Creamy, cheesy girts topped with golden, lightly breaded Just Shrimp nuggets turn into the perfect combination for an easy meal that everyone will love.
This is the kind of meal that tastes like you put in way more effort than you actually did. That’s a win-win in my book. It comes together fast, super easy to prepare… it’s crispy, it’s cheesy, it checks all the boxes. Whether you’re making a weekday breakfast/lunch or simply craving a bowl of classic, Southern-inspired comfort food, this here is the meal you’ll be wanting to make over and over again.

INGREDIENTS FOR THIS SHRIMP AND GRITS RECIPE:
TO MAKE THE SHRIMP + GRITS:
- Bacon
- Just Shrimp Nuggets
- Quick 5-Minute Grits
- Chicken Stock
- Milk
- Salted Butter
- Cheddar Cheese
- Salt + Black Pepper
- Chives, for garnish
GARLIC BUTTER DRIZZLE:
- Butter
- Garlic
- Cajun Seasoning
While the garlic butter drizzle is completely optional, I highly recommend adding it! The cajun flavors go so well with both the grits and shrimp… it really pulls this whole dish together.
PERSONAL NOTES WHEN I MAKE SHRIMP AND CHEESY GRITS:
JUST SHRIMP NUGGETS: While I decided to pan-fry these, you can also pop them in the air fryer or oven. You’ll find these at your local Harris Teeter in the freezer aisle.
CHEESY GRITS: I believe these are non-negotiable to create the best tasting grits… chicken stock instead of water, full-fat milk, and shred your own full-fat cheese. Does it have to be cheddar cheese? No, any melty variety will do the trick, just make sure you shred it yourself.

- Mix the melted butter, garlic, and cajun seasoning in a small bowl.
- To serve, add grits to a bowl, top with 3 shrimp nuggets, bacon, chives, and a drizzle of the garlic butter. Enjoy immediately.
