An intimate experience in the middle of Center City Charlotte.
Here’s what to expect when you spend your evening at The Dock.
Hidden in plain sight behind an unmarked door is a speakeasy that can be rented out for private parties, celebrations, or simply a Friday night. Located adjacent to the Marriott’s loading platform, The Dock is a dimly lit lair with rustic brick walls, an exquisite menu selection, and a customizable bar.
To showcase the variety of entertainment venues at the Center City Marriott, we joined a group for their after-work social hour and mobster-themed dinner.
Happy Hour at Stoke’s Bar:
Stoke’s cocktail house has created a urban buzz for the Queen City; offering the classics, modern twists on old favorites, and adventurous libations at reasonable prices. The bar has an open layout which allows for large parties to move about and mingle, while intimate couples can curl up at one of the many tables tucked away along the outer rim of the space.

The Dock
The chamber is enchanting with a touch of old-world charm. The Dock remains completely unknown to some of its neighbors, which adds to part of the evening’s charisma. As guests begin to fill the room, barkeeps offer thoughtful cocktail creations to suit each customer’s boozy preference.
Prohibition Style Cocktails
Rustic wooden tables are garnished with elegant glassware and a customized 3-course menu. Wine has been paired with each course and continues to flow throughout the dinner service.
Wine & Cheese Pairing
Judging by the outside loading docks, you would never know that there’s an exquisite canteen inside filled with mouthwatering dishes that will make your tastebuds roar. Staying true to the Jazz Age, The Dock is a swanky and secretive space that allows you to go back to yesteryear while experiencing what really put the bees back in the knees of cocktail crafting and a captivating dining experience.
A Family-Stlye Feast
From the Kitchen
Executive Chef, Chris Coleman, has made a tremendous effort to use locally grown produce while partnering with some of Charlotte’s best purveyors and farmers.
Coleman’s approach is to go seasonal whenever possible; therefore, guests can expect an evolving menu that changes often. Stoke Charlotte’s list of options include soups, salads, family-style appetizers, fire-roasted comfort meals, and inventive companions made from native and regional, farm-raised ingredients. When dining at this fine establishment, guests can expect to get a taste of locally grown Charlotte cuisine with exceptional service.
