Tis the season for Gingerbread Man Cookies! Oh, and because I love y'all so much, I'm also giving away a Kitchen Aid Mixer! Whoop, Whoop!
Serves: 24
  • ¾ cup Unsalted Butter
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar
  • ½ cup Molasses
  • 1 Egg
  • 2 Tbsp. Maple Syrup
  • 2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 3 cups of All Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Ground Ginger
  • 1 Tbsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1-2 Tbsp. Milk, depending on consistency preferences
  1. In a standup mixer, fitted with the paddle attachment, mix butter and brown sugar.
  2. Add in molasses, egg, maple syrup and vanilla and blend.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Slowly pour in the dry ingredients to wet and mix on slow until well blended.
  5. Using hands, form dough into two balls and wrap with plastic wrap. Place in refrigerator for one hour.
  6. Preheat oven to 375F and remove the dough from refrigerator. On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to ¼ inch thick and use cookie cutters to cut into shapes.
  7. Place on non-stick or parchment covered cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool completely on wire rack before icing.
  9. For the icing, mix the powdered sugar and milk in a medium-sized mixing bowl until combined. Use a piping bag to create desired gingerbread designs.
